911 Sub-Grant Award Notification Update November 6, 2019

November 6, 2019

The Kansas 911 Coordinating Council has awarded 30 grants, totaling $1,800,000 and supporting 36 different PSAPs.  This is the full amount of the Federal Grant for this subgrant project.

It is possible that the actual funds used by the awardees will total less than their grant applications.  Should that happen, any remaining funds will be awarded on a “first-come, first-served” basis.  While there is no guarantee of how much money, if any, will be available, applications will continue to be accepted to establish a waiting list.

Thank you,

Kansas 911 Coordinating Council Subgrant Committee

Kansas 911 Coordinating Council announces the following PSAPs have been awarded grants:

The funding provided by these grants was awarded to the Kansas 911 Coordinating Council, by the National 911 grant program administered by the National Telecommunications and Information Administration (NTIA) and the National 911 Program.  A total of $2,759,782 was awarded to the 911 Council, of which $1,800,000 is being used to fund sub-grants to Kansas 911 Communications Centers.  “These sub-grants will allow our Kansas 911 Centers to fund upgrades and equipment replacement that could otherwise fall on the shoulders of local property tax payers,” said Dick Heitschmidt, Kansas 911 Coordinating Council Chairman.
